Massey Ferguson 03.03.95 – TECU: High Voltage On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

The control unit is detecting a voltage signal from the 6th auxiliary valve switch that exceeds the maximum expected operating range. This condition is typically caused by a short circuit to a 12V power source in the wiring harness or an internal failure (short) within the switch/potentiometer itself.

   Inspect Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 (located on the armrest joystick or FingerTIP control console) for physical damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion.

   Trace the wiring harness from the switch back to the TECU. Look for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or exposed copper that could be causing a short circuit to a 12V power source.

   Disconnect the switch and the TECU connectors. Check for bent pins, corrosion, or moisture that could bridge the voltage pins.

   With the switch disconnected, use a multimeter to test the switch's resistance/voltage output through its sweep to see if it is internally shorted.

   Test the harness side with a multimeter for unwanted 12V presence on the signal wire.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the necessary trim panels on the armrest or side console to access the wiring and mounting hardware for Auxiliary Valve Switch 6.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to 12V in the harness, repair the damaged wire using proper splicing techniques and heat shrink, or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace the Switch

   If the wiring is intact but the switch failed the multimeter test, unbolt the faulty switch/FingerTIP module, disconnect its pigtail, and install the new OEM switch.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Secure the console trim panels and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Turn the ignition on. Use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard display to clear the 03.03.95 fault code.
