Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Hitch Depth Control Dial and the MFA printed circuit board for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins

  2. Test the resistance of the depth control potentiometer using a multimeter (normal values: ~560 ohms at 'Depth Low' and ~1650 ohms at 'Depth High')

  3. Check the internal wiring and solder joints on the armrest console's printed circuit board for broken joints causing a signal voltage drop

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the MFA

Carefully remove the cover panels of the Multi-Function Armrest console to expose the internal electronic lift control panel and printed circuit board.

  3. Disconnect the Dial

Locate the hitch depth control dial and unplug its wiring connector from the main harness/board.

  4. Remove the Potentiometer

Remove the retaining nut or mounting screws holding the potentiometer to the armrest housing and pull the faulty dial assembly out.

  5. Install the New Part

Insert the replacement Depth Adjustment Control Armrest Potentiometer into the housing, secure the mounting hardware, and reattach the control knob.

  6. Reconnect Wiring

Plug the connector back into the harness, ensuring it is fully seated.

  7. Reassemble and Test

Reassemble the armrest console, reconnect the battery, and turn the ignition on.

  8. Clear Codes

Use an AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) or the dashboard diagnostic menu to clear the 03.03.9F fault code. Test the hitch depth dial to ensure the rear linkage responds correctly and the code does not return.
