Check the cause
Connect a compatible diagnostic tool to read the ECU failure memory and verify if the code is active or stored
Verify the power supply to the TECU and check for related codes like 'Issue With 10 Volt Supply From TECU Module' or overvoltage/undervoltage conditions
Inspect the wiring harnesses connected to the TECU (including the armrest harness, pillar harness, and CAN bus lines) for short circuits to 0V, short circuits to 12V, or physical damage
Ensure the CAN messages are valid; if the TECU is not receiving or sending CAN messages, the system may default to degraded mode
Repair steps
De-energize the Machine
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts or injury.
Locate the TECU
Access the TECU, which is typically located in the cab console or integrated into the armrest control assembly (Autotronic 5) depending on the specific tractor model.
Disconnect Harnesses
Carefully unplug the multi-pin connectors and CAN bus harnesses from the module.
Remove the Module
Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the TECU and remove the faulty unit.
Install the New TECU
Mount the replacement TECU and securely reconnect all wiring harnesses.
Re-energize and Calibrate
Reconnect the battery. Use your diagnostic tool to clear the 03.X.85 fault code. The new TECU will likely require software flashing/programming and calibration of the auxiliary valves and armrest controls to sync the vehicle's electronic identification with the new module.
Parts you might need
(1)Tractor Electronic Control Unit (TECU)
7102493M1Because the TECU controls critical hydraulic and transmission functions, the replacement must be an exact match for your tractor's serial number and transmission type (e.g., Dyna-4, Dyna-6, or Dyna-VT). Always verify the part number against your specific VIN/Serial with an AGCO dealer before ordering.
