Massey Ferguson 03.X.94 – TECU: High Amp Draw On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

The electrical circuit for the 6th auxiliary (spool) valve switch is pulling more current than the system allows. This is typically caused by a short circuit to ground (0 V) in the wiring harness, a failed internal switch, or a shorted solenoid coil.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the TECU to the armrest/joystick console for chafed wires, pinched lines, or melted insulation that could cause a short to ground.

   Disconnect Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 and inspect the pins on both the switch side and the harness side for corrosion, moisture, or bent pins bridging the circuit.

   Test the switch for internal continuity/resistance to see if it is internally shorted.

   Probe the harness side with a multimeter to check for continuity to ground on the power supply wire.

   Temporarily swap Switch 6 with an adjacent, known-good switch (like Switch 5 or 7). If the fault code moves to the new switch location, the switch is faulty. If the code remains on Switch 6, the issue is in the wiring harness or the TECU.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the trim panels on the multifunction armrest or side console to expose the auxiliary valve control switches.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from Auxiliary Valve Switch 6.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If your diagnostic checks revealed a short to ground in the harness, splice and repair the damaged wire using heat-shrink connectors, or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace the Switch (If Applicable)

   If the switch is internally shorted, unclip or unbolt the faulty switch from the console bezel and install the new OEM replacement switch.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the wiring harness to the switch and reinstall the armrest trim panels.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use the tractor's dashboard diagnostic menu or a service tool to clear the stored 03.X.94 fault code. Test the hydraulic valve operation to ensure the code does not return.
