03.X.95

Massey Ferguson 03.X.95 – TECU (Tractor Electronic Control Unit): High Voltage On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6

Issue description

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the 6th auxiliary hydraulic spool valve switch that exceeds the maximum expected threshold (typically indicating a short to power or an open ground circuit). When the signal voltage is pulled abnormally high, the controller disables the associated hydraulic valve to prevent unintended operation.

Check the cause

  1. Locate Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 on the main armrest console or externally on the rear fender.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness between the TECU and the switch for chafing, pinched wires, or melted insulation that could cause a short to a 12V power source.

  3. Test the ground pin at the switch connector for continuity to the chassis ground, as an open ground wire will cause the signal voltage to float high.

  4. Disconnect the switch and check if the 'High Voltage' code changes to an 'Open Circuit' or 'Low Voltage' code. If it changes, the switch itself has likely failed internally.

  5. Check the harness connectors (such as the armrest-to-cab transmission harness junction) for moisture, corrosion, or bent pins.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the trim panels on the armrest console or the fender housing to access the faulty Auxiliary Valve Switch 6.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the switch.

  4. Replace

Depress the retaining clips or remove the mounting screws holding the switch in place. Pull the old switch out and snap the new OEM switch into the housing.

  5. Reassemble

Reconnect the electrical harness to the new switch and reinstall any trim panels.

  6. Restore Power

    Reconnect the battery.

  7. Clear Codes & Calibrate

Turn the ignition on and use the tractor's diagnostic display (CCD/Datatronic) to clear the inactive 03.X.95 fault code.

  8. Important Note

You must perform a valve switch calibration after replacement. Failure to calibrate the new switch will immediately trigger a related fault code: 03.X.96 (Calibration Issue For Valve Switch 6).
