   Remove the armrest trim and inspect the wiring harness leading to the hand throttle potentiometer. Look for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or loose connector pins.

   Using a multimeter, check the signal voltage coming from the potentiometer while slowly moving the hand throttle. The voltage should transition smoothly (typically between 0.5V and 4.5V). If the voltage drops to 0V, spikes to 5V, or has 'dead spots' during the sweep, the potentiometer has failed internally.

   Ensure the MFA module is supplying the correct 5V reference and a solid ground to the potentiometer connector. If the 5V reference is missing, the fault lies in the wiring harness or the MFA module itself.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the upper trim panel of the Multifunction Armrest (MFA) to expose the underside of the hand throttle assembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the hand throttle potentiometer switch.

   Remove the Faulty Part

   Remove the retaining screws or mounting clips holding the potentiometer assembly to the armrest housing and pull the switch out.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new hand throttle potentiometer switch into the armrest and secure it with the retaining hardware.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical connector and snap/screw the armrest trim panel back into place.

   Clear Codes & Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key to the ON position. You will likely need to clear the inactive 03.X.9E fault code using the tractor's Datatronic display or a diagnostic tool (like AGCO EDT or Jaltest). Depending on the tractor series, a quick minimum/maximum throttle calibration routine via the dashboard menu may be required so the MFA learns the new sensor's exact voltage limits.
