Massey Ferguson 04.00.07 – TRANS: Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 Signal Voltage Issue

The transmission controller is receiving an abnormal voltage signal from the Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2, usually pointing to an electrical fault (open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) in the sensor itself or its wiring harness.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 for chafing, melted wires, or physical damage.

   Disconnect the sensor and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage (usually 5V) and a solid ground from the Transmission Control Module.

   Check the signal wire for continuity between the sensor connector and the transmission controller harness, ensuring there is no short to ground or short to power.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the hand brake or ParkLock, and turn off the engine. Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure if required by your specific model's manual.

   Removal

   Locate High Pressure Sensor 2 on the transmission hydrostatic unit. Disconnect the electrical harness and carefully unscrew the sensor. Have a rag ready to catch minor oil seepage.

   Installation

   Thread the new sensor into the port and tighten to the OEM torque specification. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Mandatory Calibration

   A transmission calibration must be carried out systematically after changing the transmission high pressure sensor. Ensure the hand brake is applied (or ParkLock engaged), Power Control lever is in the neutral position, and the High/Low (Hare/Tortoise) speed range is in neutral. Initiate the transmission calibration sequence via the tractor terminal/dashboard.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the 04.00.07 fault code from the system and test drive the tractor to ensure the code does not return.
