Massey Ferguson 04.00.8F – TRANS (Transmission Control Module): Issue With Tyre Size Configuration (TRANS)

This code indicates a software or parameter mismatch regarding the tire size programmed into the tractor's control system. The controller has detected that the tire size configuration is either missing, out of acceptable range, or corrupted, which can affect transmission shifting, speed readouts, and four-wheel-drive/differential lock engagement.

   Verify physical tire size by checking the sidewalls of the front and rear tires currently installed on the tractor.

   Check terminal settings by accessing the Datatronic terminal (or equivalent dashboard display) to see what tire size is currently inputted.

   Check for recent power loss events such as a dead battery, battery disconnect, or software flash, which can cause the Transmission Control Module to lose its programmed parameters.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to module

   Navigate to the TRANS (Transmission) module.

   Access menu

   Access the Configuration / Parameterization menu.

   Select parameter

   Select the Tyre Size Configuration parameter.

   Input tire size

   Input the correct tire size values that match the physical tires on the machine.
