   Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the Range 2 solenoid coil (typically 7-12 ohms for 12V coils). An open or short circuit indicates a dead coil

   Test the Range 2 Engaged Switch for proper continuity when manually actuated or when hydraulic pressure is applied

   Ensure the transmission hydraulic oil is at the correct level and the transmission filters are not blocked, which can cause sluggish shifting

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, lower all implements, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

   Locate the transmission control valve block (usually located on the right-hand side of the transmission housing).

   Thoroughly clean the area around the valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean transmission fluid. Insert the new valve into the block and secure it with the retaining hardware. Torque to OEM specifications.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harnesses. Reconnect the battery.

   Calibration/Clearing

   Start the tractor, check for leaks, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 04.00.96 fault code from the TRANS1 module. A transmission calibration routine may need to be run depending on the tractor model.
