Issue description
The transmission controller continuously monitors the electrical current (amperage) drawn by the transmission solenoids. This code is triggered when the controller detects that the current draw from the reverse clutch solenoid circuit is outside the expected parameters (typically too low or completely absent). This indicates that the circuit is either open, shorted to ground, or has lost its power supply, preventing the controller from properly engaging the reverse directional clutch.

Check the cause
Ensure the tractor is parked on level ground, the engine is off, and the wheels are securely blocked so the tractor cannot move during testing
Check the wiring harness running from the TRANS1 controller to the transmission valve block for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinch points
Disconnect the plug at the reverse clutch solenoid and inspect the pins to ensure they are not disconnected, bent, pushed back, or rusty/corroded
Using a multimeter, verify continuity between the TRANS1 harness connector and the solenoid plug, and test the reverse clutch solenoid feed wire for a short to ground or short to power
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the reverse clutch solenoid itself to determine if the internal coil is open or shorted
Repair steps
Access the Valve Block
Locate the transmission control valve block on the side of the transmission housing where the directional clutch solenoids are mounted.
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the wiring was found to be damaged, splice and heat-shrink the broken wires, or replace the damaged harness section.
Solenoid Replacement
If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut/bolt holding the reverse clutch solenoid coil to the valve stem. Slide the old coil off and install the new one.
