Massey Ferguson 04.01.46 – Transmission Control Module (TRANS): Pressure Is Not Seen To Drop When Turbo Clutch Solenoid Is Activated.
Issue description
Indicates a malfunction in the transmission's high-pressure hydraulic circuit where the turbo clutch solenoid valve (TK valve) fails to drop pressure when activated, preventing the tractor from achieving maximum traction performance.

Check the cause
Verify the wiring harness and connector at the turbo clutch solenoid for corrosion, shorts, or breaks
Check if the valve is receiving constant external energizing when it shouldn't be
Inspect the TK valve for mechanical jamming inside the transmission valve block
Ensure the transmission pressure sensors are reading accurately and aren't falsely reporting high pressure
Repair steps
Locate the Valve
Locate the transmission valve block on the side of the Dyna-VT transmission housing. Identify the Turbo Clutch Solenoid Valve (designated as Y004 or 4V4).
Depressurize and Drain
Ensure the tractor is off, the transmission is depressurized, and place a catch pan underneath the valve block to catch residual hydraulic oil.
Remove the Solenoid
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the turbo clutch solenoid. Remove the retaining bolts/hardware holding the solenoid valve in the block.
Inspect the Port
Carefully extract the valve. Inspect the valve block bore for metal shavings, debris, or contamination that may have caused the original valve spool to jam. Clean the port thoroughly.
Install the New Valve
Lubricate the O-rings on the new OEM turbo clutch solenoid valve with clean transmission fluid. Insert it into the valve block and torque the retaining hardware to OEM specifications.
Reconnect and Clear
Reconnect the electrical harness. Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the 04.01.46 fault code from the TRANS module.
Test Drive
Run the tractor through its RPM range to ensure the electronics box is properly modulating the solenoid current and that maximum traction performance is restored without the code returning.
