   Read and clear codes using the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to verify if 04.01.E1 is an active or stored (historic) code.

   Check CAN bus communication to ensure the diagnostic tool can successfully communicate with the Transmission Control Unit (TCU). If communication fails, check the wiring harness for CAN bus faults or low supply voltage to the module.

   Verify the current software version installed on the transmission controller using the EDT and compare it against the latest AGCO software releases to see if a patch is available for known internal software bugs.

   Software Flash / Update

   Connect the AGCO EDT software. Navigate to the transmission module programming section and flash the controller with the latest transmission software update provided by AGCO.

   Recalibration

   After a successful software update, use the EDT to perform necessary transmission calibrations (e.g., clutch pedal calibration, drive pedal calibration, and shuttling smoothness calibration).

   Module Replacement

   If the transmission controller is "bricked," refuses to accept the software update, or the internal memory has physically failed, the Transmission Control Unit must be replaced.

   Program New Module

   If a replacement is installed, use the AGCO EDT to program the blank module with the correct tractor configuration and software payload, followed by a full transmission calibration.
