Massey Ferguson 04.02.19 – TRANS: Issue With The Stored Values For The Foot Throttle

The controller has detected that the minimum and maximum voltage calibration values for the foot throttle potentiometer are missing, corrupted, or out of the acceptable range in the module's memory. When this happens, the tractor may limit throttle response or default to a safe mode because it cannot accurately determine the physical position of the pedal.

   Check for accompanying codes like 04.02.20 or 04.02.22 ('Issue With Signal Voltage From Foot Throttle Sensor') to determine if there is a hard electrical fault rather than just a memory/calibration issue.

   Perform a live voltage test using the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or the tractor's diagnostic menu to monitor the foot throttle sensor voltage (should smoothly sweep from approximately 0.5V to 4.5V without dropouts).

   Mechanically inspect the foot pedal mechanism to ensure it moves freely, is not obstructed by debris in the cab, and that the return spring is intact.

   Inspect the harness and connector at the foot throttle for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins that could cause intermittent signal loss to the TRANS module.

   Attempt Recalibration

   Recalibrate the throttle pedal potentiometer via the Datatronic terminal or the AGCO EDT software to teach the TRANS module the physical end-stops of the pedal. The engine must be running, the PowerShuttle lever set to neutral, and the PTO disengaged.

   Clear and Retest

   Once calibrated, clear the fault codes. Cycle the key, test the foot throttle response, and verify if the code returns.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the calibration fails to save, or if your diagnostic checks revealed erratic voltage sweeps, the sensor itself has failed internally and must be replaced.

   Final Calibration

   If a new sensor is installed, you must perform the throttle pedal calibration procedure again so the module can store the new sensor's specific voltage values.
