The controller is receiving erratic, missing, or out-of-range signals from the sensor responsible for monitoring the rotational speed and direction of the transmission.

   Perform diagnostic tests on the sensors using Wintest software to verify the signal output before condemning the sensor.

   Inspect the sensor's electrical connector and the wiring harness for corrosion, water ingress, or physical damage, as moisture intrusion is a highly common cause of failure.

   Locate the sensor

   Locate the transmission speed/direction sensor on the transmission housing.

   Disconnect the sensor

   Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the old sensor.

   Remove the sensor

   Remove the single mounting bolt securing the sensor to the housing and pull the sensor out.

   Install the new sensor

   Ensure the mounting surface is clean. Insert the new OEM speed sensor and secure it with the mounting bolt.

   Reconnect the harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Ensure the connection is completely clean and properly sealed, as these sensors are exposed to heavy vibration, dust, and moisture.

   Calibrate or reset the system

   Depending on the exact transmission system (e.g., Dyna-6), the system may need to be reset or the transmission recalibrated after the new sensor is installed to ensure smooth shifting and accurate ground speed readings.
