Massey Ferguson 04.02.70 – TRANS: Cruise Speed C1 Button Issue (TRANS)

The system has detected an invalid signal, open circuit, or short circuit originating from the "C1" Cruise Speed button located on the armrest control joystick.

   Inspect the C1 cruise speed button on the armrest joystick to see if it is physically stuck, jammed with debris, or lacks its normal tactile click.

   Trace the wiring harness from the armrest joystick down to the Transmission ECU, looking for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connections at the multi-pin connector under the armrest console.

   Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the C1 button circuit to verify that the switch properly toggles between open and closed states when pressed.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws on the operator seat's right-hand armrest console to lift the upper trim panel.

   Disconnect the Joystick

   Locate the main electrical connector for the control joystick/T-bar and carefully unplug it.

   Remove the Assembly

   Unbolt the joystick assembly from its mounting bracket on the armrest.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the replacement joystick assembly (plug-and-play) and secure it with the retaining hardware.

   Reassemble & Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness, reinstall the armrest trim, and reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and verify that the 04.02.70 code has cleared (or clear it manually via the tractor's diagnostic menu). Test the C1 cruise speed function during operation.
