Check the cause
Check for accompanying codes, such as 04.02.16 or T130 (Transmission Module Low Supply Voltage), as low voltage can cause software logic errors
Verify stable battery voltage and check CAN bus connections to the transmission controller to rule out intermittent communication drops
Ensure transmission fluid temperature and engine RPMs are within normal operating ranges, as extreme conditions can trigger internal logic faults
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to the tractor's diagnostic port.
Check for Updates
Access the manufacturer's authorized portal to check for the latest firmware/software updates for the Transmission Control Module.
Flash the Module
Apply the software update to the TRANS module to resolve known software bugs and logic errors.
Perform Transmission Calibration
After updating the software, the transmission must be recalibrated. For example, on a Dyna-6 transmission: Ensure the transmission temperature is between 15-60°C, start the engine and set it to 1500 rpm, engage the power shuttle and differential lock for 3 seconds, and shift the power shuttle lever to initiate the automatic 2-minute calibration process.
Validate Repair
Perform several forward and reverse maneuvers to check for smooth shifting and ensure the fault code does not return.
Module Replacement
If the module will not accept the software update or is internally 'bricked', the Transmission Control Module itself must be replaced and programmed.
Parts you might need
(1)Transmission Control Module (TCM) / Transmission ECU
3387338M5 / 3792092M92Specific part numbers vary heavily based on the exact tractor serial number and transmission type. A new or remanufactured module is not plug-and-play; it must be flashed with the correct software and calibrated using the AGCO EDT.
