Massey Ferguson 04.02.F2 – TRANS: Transmission Calibration Issue

The transmission's internal software has detected that the transmission is out of calibration, or a previous calibration attempt failed or was interrupted.

   Ensure the tractor is parked on completely flat ground

   Verify transmission oil temperature is between 35°C (95°F) and 45°C (113°F) by normal operation or engaging the PTO

   Cycle the PowerShuttle lever 10 times in each direction for 5 to 10 seconds to warm up the control unit and solenoid valves to match transmission temperature

   Configure the PowerShuttle progressivity settings all to '0' on the left-hand dash screen

   Disengage the PTO, differential lock, and front axle, place the tractor in neutral, and release the park brake

   Raise engine speed

   With the pre-checks met, raise the engine speed to 1500 RPM (± 100 RPM) using the hand throttle.

   Engage PowerShuttle and differential lock

   Raise the PowerShuttle arm to the 'raised' position (left of the steering wheel) and hold it there while simultaneously pressing the differential lock switch.

   Hold controls

   Hold both for approximately 10 seconds (or until the right-hand transmission gear screen displays 'Ct').

   Begin calibration

   Once 'Ct' is displayed, the tractor is ready. Place the PowerShuttle arm into the forward position to begin the calibration.

   Wait for calibration

   The calibration process takes approximately 10 minutes. The screen will continuously show 'Ct', and it is completely normal to hear the transmission shifting and making noises during this time.

   Verify completion

   Once complete, the right-hand screen will display the last transmission ratio you were in before starting (e.g., '1A/2A' or '1E/2E').

   Save settings

   To save the settings: Place the PowerShuttle into the neutral position, disengage the differential lock, idle the tractor down, and switch the engine off.

   Validate settings

   Restart the tractor and validate the settings by driving back and forth using a variety of maneuvers (forward to reverse, neutral to forward, etc.) to ensure shifting is smooth.
