Massey Ferguson 04.03.05 – TRANS: Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 Signal Voltage Issue
Issue description
The control module is receiving an electrical signal from the Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 that falls outside the expected voltage parameters (either too high, too low, or erratic). This condition typically points to a failed sensor, a wiring harness issue (such as a short or open circuit), or a poor electrical connection.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 for any visible damage, chafing, or breaks.
Disconnect the sensor and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture, or bent pins.
Use a multimeter to check the supply voltage (typically a 5V or 8.5V reference depending on the exact transmission model) and ground to the sensor to ensure the wiring is intact.
Test the signal wire for continuity back to the TRANS module.
If the wiring and connections are good and the supply voltage is correct, the sensor itself has likely failed internally and requires replacement.
Repair steps
Ensure the tractor is parked on a level surface with the engine off.
Apply the hand brake or engage the ParkLock.
Locate Transmission High Pressure Sensor 2 on the transmission valve block.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
Unthread and remove the faulty pressure sensor.
Have a shop rag ready to catch any residual transmission fluid.
Install the new OEM transmission high pressure sensor and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Perform a transmission calibration via the tractor terminal or diagnostic tool.
Preliminary conditions for calibration: a. Hand brake applied or ParkLock engaged. b. Power Control lever in the neutral position. c. High/low speed range (Hare/Tortoise) in neutral.
Clear the 04.03.05 fault code and test drive the tractor to ensure the code does not return.
