04.03.19

Massey Ferguson 04.03.19 – TRANS: Issue With The Stored Values For The Foot Throttle (TRANS)

Issue description

The controller has lost, corrupted, or is reading invalid calibration data regarding the minimum and maximum travel positions of the foot throttle pedal potentiometer. Without these stored values, the tractor cannot accurately determine the operator's requested engine speed or acceleration.

Check the cause

  1. Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for related voltage codes such as 04.03.20 or 04.03.22 (Issue With Signal Voltage From Foot Throttle Sensor). If these are present, the issue is likely a hard electrical failure (wiring or sensor) rather than just a calibration loss.

  2. Inspect Wiring and Connections: Check the wiring harness and connector at the foot throttle pedal for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage.

  3. Check Battery/System Voltage: A weak battery or low system voltage can cause the transmission module to lose its stored calibration values.

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Test

Verify the physical condition of the foot throttle pedal. Ensure there is no debris blocking its full range of motion.

  2. Replace if Faulty

If the sensor has failed electrically (indicated by accompanying voltage codes that do not clear after wiring checks), remove the mounting hardware and disconnect the wiring harness to replace the foot throttle pedal assembly.

  3. Recalibrate the Pedal

Recalibrate the pedal so the Transmission module can relearn the idle and wide-open throttle positions. This is done via the SIS (System Information Screen) / Datatronic monitor, or by a dealer using the AGCO diagnostic tool.

  4. Clear Codes

Once calibration is complete, use the diagnostic tool or monitor to clear the DTCs from the system and test drive the tractor to ensure normal acceleration.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Foot Throttle Pedal / Control Pedal Assembly

    3809231M91

Fits a wide range of Massey Ferguson tractors. Replacing the whole pedal assembly is standard practice for AGCO.

  • Throttle sensor

    84129020

Bare throttle sensor listed in some cross-reference catalogs.
