Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness connecting the Multipad joystick to the main cab harness for pinched wires, loose connector pins, or corrosion
Use a multimeter to check the CAN/communication lines between the armrest lever and the Transmission ECU for continuity and proper resistance (typically 60 ohms across the CAN network)
Access the Datatronic terminal or use a dealer diagnostic tool to monitor live inputs from the armrest speed lever to verify if the internal circuit board has failed
Repair steps
Park and disconnect battery
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove trim panels
Carefully pry or unscrew the trim panels on the command control armrest to expose the base of the Multipad joystick/speed lever.
Disconnect electrical connector
Disconnect the multi-pin electrical connector at the base of the joystick.
Remove retaining hardware
Remove the retaining screws or bolts securing the joystick assembly to the armrest frame.
Remove faulty lever
Lift the faulty speed lever out of the armrest.
Install new joystick
Drop the new OEM control joystick into place and secure it with the mounting hardware.
Reconnect harness
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.
Reinstall trim and reconnect battery
Reinstall the armrest trim panels and reconnect the battery.
Clear DTC
Turn the ignition on and clear the stored 04.03.33 DTC using the tractor's diagnostic menu or a compatible OBD scanner.
Test tractor
Test the tractor in a safe area to ensure forward/reverse shuttling and speed changes respond correctly to the new lever.
