Check the cause
Verify transmission/hydraulic oil filter condition. A heavily contaminated filter or dirty oil can cause pressure spikes that make the sensor behave erratically.
Inspect the X20 Transmission filter blockage sensor wiring harness and connector for breaks, chafing, or corrosion.
Test the X20 sensor for internal shorting or an open circuit using a multimeter.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.
Filter Replacement (Recommended)
If the transmission filter hasn't been changed recently, drain the filter housing and replace the transmission oil filter to rule out actual fluid restriction.
Disconnect the Sensor
Locate the X20 filter blockage sensor on the filter housing block. Carefully unplug the electrical connector.
Remove the Sensor
Place a catch pan underneath to catch any residual hydraulic fluid. Use a wrench to unscrew the faulty sensor from the housing.
Install the New Sensor
Thread the new OEM sensor into the housing and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification.
Reconnect and Top Up
Reconnect the electrical harness to the new sensor. Check the transmission/hydraulic oil level and top up any fluid lost during the swap.
Clear Codes
Turn the ignition on and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 04.03.49 DTC from the TRANS module. Run the tractor and verify the code does not return.
