Massey Ferguson 04.03.71 – Transmission Control Module (TRANS): Cruise Speed C2 Button Issue (TRANS)

   Inspect the C2 cruise speed button on the Command Control Armrest's Multipad lever or multifunction joystick for physical damage, debris, or a sticky mechanism.

   Use a specialized diagnostic tool to monitor the live state of the C2 button to determine if the TRANS module registers the button as permanently closed (stuck) or open circuit.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors running from the armrest joystick assembly to the Transmission Control Module for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the Armrest Controls

   Carefully remove the trim and cover panels on the Command Control Armrest to expose the mounting hardware for the Multipad/multifunction joystick.

   Disconnect the Joystick

   Unplug the main electrical connector routing to the joystick assembly.

   Replace the Component

   Remove the mounting screws and extract the entire Multipad joystick assembly. Install the new OEM joystick assembly.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness, secure the joystick mounting screws, and snap the armrest trim panels back into place.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 04.03.71 fault code from the TRANS module. Start the tractor and test the C2 cruise speed function to verify the repair.
