   Check battery voltage and ensure the transmission module is receiving proper power and ground. Low supply voltage can cause the module's processor to log false internal software errors.

   Look for other active codes, particularly CAN bus communication errors or low voltage codes (e.g., T132 'Transmission Module Low Supply Voltage').

   Attempt to clear the DTCs using a diagnostic tool to determine if the code is a hard fault or a temporary software glitch.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the Massey Ferguson Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Software Update (Reflash)

   Check for available software updates for the TRANS module. Reflash the transmission controller with the latest OEM software version to resolve any known bugs or corrupted files.

   Recalibration

   If the software update is successful, perform a full transmission calibration (including the drive pedal and clutch pedal calibrations, which are often required after a software reset).

   Module Replacement

   If the EDT cannot communicate with the module, the software update fails, or the 04.03.E4 code immediately returns after flashing, the internal memory/processor has physically failed. The Transmission Control Unit (Autotronic module) must be replaced and programmed to the tractor.
