04.03.EC

Massey Ferguson 04.03.EC – TRANS: Drive Pedal Not Calibrated (TRANS)

Issue description

The transmission control system has detected that the drive pedal lacks valid calibration values. The system does not know the physical minimum (released) and maximum (fully depressed) positions of the pedal, which disables foot pedal driving modes.

Check the cause

  1. Check for accompanying codes (e.g., 04.03.04) which may indicate a shared 5V reference wire issue or bad ground rather than a failed pedal

  2. Visually and physically inspect the drive pedal assembly to ensure no debris is blocking the pedal's full range of motion

  3. Inspect the wiring pigtail and connector at the drive pedal sensor (potentiometer) for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or chafing

Repair steps

  1. Perform Drive Pedal Calibration

Use AGCO EDT to navigate to Transmission diagnostic pages and select Drive Pedal calibration, or use the dashboard terminal on supported Dyna-VT models. Follow prompts to register minimum (released) and maximum (fully depressed) voltage.

  2. Verify Repair

Clear DTC codes (including 04.03.EC) and test drive the tractor in Foot Pedal Mode to ensure smooth acceleration and that the code does not return.

  3. Replace Sensor (If Calibration Fails)

If the AGCO EDT tool rejects the calibration (voltage out of 0.5V - 4.5V range or dead spots), replace the drive pedal sensor or assembly and repeat Step 1 to calibrate the new part.
