Massey Ferguson 04.03.EF – Transmission Control Module (TRANS): Transmission Turbo Clutch Calibration Issue (TRANS)
Issue description
The transmission's turbo clutch has lost its calibration parameters or failed to complete a calibration cycle successfully, resulting in harsh, jumpy, or erratic shifting (especially when using the reverse shuttle).

Check the cause
Park the tractor on completely flat ground
Verify transmission oil temperature is strictly between 35°C (95°F) and 45°C (113°F) on the Dash Control Center (diagnostic screen 1)
If the transmission is cold, engage the PTO to help warm it up
Activate the PowerShuttle (forward and reverse) 10 times in each direction for 5 to 10 seconds to warm up the control units and solenoid valves
Access the left-hand dash screen and configure all PowerShuttle progressivity settings (forward engagement, reverse engagement, and ratio shifting sensitivity) to '0'
Repair steps
Disengage the PTO, place the transmission in neutral, and release the parking brake.
Raise the engine speed to approximately 1500 RPM.
Raise the PowerShuttle arm to the raised position and hold it there.
Located to the left of the steering wheel.
Simultaneously press and hold the differential lock switch.
Hold both for about 10 seconds until the right-hand transmission gear screen displays 'Ct'.
Place the PowerShuttle arm into the forward position to begin the calibration.
Do this once 'Ct' is displayed.
Wait for the calibration process to complete.
Takes approximately 10 minutes. It is completely normal to hear the transmission shifting and making noises during this time.
Wait for the right-hand screen to stop displaying 'Ct'.
It will flash the transmission ratio you were in before starting (e.g., '1A/2A' or '1E/2E').
Save the settings.
Place the PowerShuttle into the neutral position, disengage the differential lock, idle the tractor down, and turn the engine off.
Restart the tractor and validate the settings.
Drive back and forth, testing forward-to-reverse and neutral-to-forward maneuvers to ensure shifting is smooth.
