Issue description

This code indicates an electrical fault in the reverse clutch solenoid circuit. The transmission controller continuously measures the current (amp) draw from the reverse clutch solenoid. If the current draw falls below a specific limit, the controller logs this code, meaning the circuit is likely open, shorted to ground, or has lost its power supply.

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the tractor is parked on a level surface, the engine is off, and the wheels are chocked so the machine cannot move during testing

  2. Inspect the wiring harness running from the Transmission Controller to the Reverse Clutch Solenoid for chafed wires, open circuits, or shorts to ground

  3. Check the solenoid connector for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins

  4. Verify that the reverse clutch solenoid is receiving power (+12V) when the tractor's shuttle lever is shifted into reverse

  5. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the reverse clutch solenoid coil to check for an internal open or short

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor safely, engage the parking brake, and turn off the ignition.

  2. Locate the transmission control valve block (typically located on the side of the transmission housing) where the forward and reverse clutch proportional solenoids are mounted.

  3. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the reverse clutch solenoid.

  4. Remove the retaining nut or bolts securing the faulty reverse clutch solenoid/coil to the transmission valve block.

  5. Remove the old solenoid and discard any old O-rings or seals.

  6. Install the new OEM reverse clutch solenoid, ensuring any provided seals are seated correctly. Secure it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

  7. Reconnect the electrical harness connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place and is free of dirt or debris.

  8. Start the tractor and perform a transmission/clutch calibration procedure.

    This is highly recommended after replacing transmission solenoids to ensure smooth engagement and prevent the reverse shuttle from being 'jerky'.

  9. Test drive the tractor in reverse to confirm the fault code is cleared and the shuttle operates smoothly.
