The 10-volt reference power supplied by the control module to various transmission sensors has dropped below the acceptable threshold. This condition is typically caused by a short to ground in the sensor wiring harness, a failed sensor that is pulling the voltage down, or an internal failure within the control module itself.

   Load-test the battery and verify the charging output under real working RPMs to rule out low system voltage.

   Clean and tighten all ground connections, specifically battery-to-frame and frame-to-engine grounds.

   Inspect the transmission wiring harness for rub-throughs, exposed copper, or pinched wires, especially near hinges, steering joints, and frames.

   Check the main connectors at the Transmission Module and at the sensors for green/white corrosion, pushed-back pins, loose locking tabs, or oil-soaked connectors.

   Perform a sensor isolation test by disconnecting the transmission sensors one by one to see if the 10V supply returns to normal.

   Resolve Power/Ground Issues

   If the battery or charging system is weak, repair or replace the necessary components (e.g., battery, alternator, or starter motor) and clear the codes to see if the fault returns.

   Repair Wiring

   If harness damage or connector corrosion is found during the visual inspection, repair the damaged wire sections or replace the pigtail connectors. Ensure all pins are seated firmly and lock tabs are engaged.

   Replace Shorted Sensor

   If the sensor isolation test reveals that a specific sensor (such as a range position sensor, speed sensor, or pressure sensor) is pulling down the 10V reference, replace the faulty sensor.

   Replace Transmission Module

   If the wiring harness is completely intact, all sensors are disconnected, and the Transmission Module still fails to output the required 10 volts on the sensor supply pin, the module has suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.
