   Ensure the tractor's battery and charging system are providing stable voltage. Low supply voltage to the transmission module can cause software glitches and trigger false internal errors.

   Connect a compatible diagnostic tool (e.g., Jaltest or Massey Ferguson dealer software) to read all active codes and verify the software version of the Autotronic controller.

   Check if the transmission has fallen out of calibration mode or if a calibration request is stuck active, which can trigger software bugs.

   Clear and Retest

   Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTC. Cycle the tractor's key and operate the transmission to see if the code returns.

   Software Update (Reflash)

   If the code returns, the controller has 'faulty programming.' Use the dealer diagnostic tool to flash the Autotronic 4/5 controller with the latest OEM software update.

   Recalibrate

   After a successful reflash, perform a full transmission calibration procedure following the on-screen prompts.

   Replace the Controller

   If the software update fails, or if the diagnostic tool indicates an internal RAM/EEPROM hardware failure, the transmission controller is permanently damaged and must be replaced.

   Installation

   Disconnect the tractor's battery. Locate the Autotronic transmission controller, unplug the multi-pin wiring harnesses, and unbolt the unit. Install the replacement controller, reconnect the harnesses, and use the diagnostic tool to program the new module to the tractor and calibrate the transmission.
