Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Auto 4WD button on the side pillar for physical damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion

  2. Remove the side pillar trim to access the rear of the switch and check the electrical connector for loose pins, corrosion, or backed-out wires

  3. Test the switch's continuity using a multimeter to ensure it smoothly transitions between open and closed states without infinite resistance or voltage drops

  4. Check the wiring harness between the side pillar switch and the Transmission Module (TRANS) for chafing, pinches, or shorts to ground

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Carefully pry or unscrew the side pillar trim panel inside the cab to access the switch cluster.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the back of the Auto 4WD button.

  4. Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it outward to remove it from the pillar panel.

  5. Snap the new Auto 4WD switch into the panel.

  6. Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place.

  7. Reinstall the side pillar trim panel.

  8. Reconnect the battery.

  9. Use a specialized Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 05.00.32 / T5132 DTC from the Transmission Module.

  10. Start the tractor and test the Auto 4WD engagement to verify the repair.

(1)
  • Auto 4WD Button / Switch (Side Pillar)

Ensure the replacement switch is specifically for Dyna VT transmission models, as switch panels and pinouts may differ from Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 equipped tractors.
