Massey Ferguson 05.00.55 – TRANS1: Issue With Right Brake Pedal Switch Signal Dyna VT

The transmission controller is receiving an erratic, missing, or out-of-range signal from the right brake pedal switch. When this fault is active, the tractor will typically disable certain automated transmission features (like the brake-to-neutral function), and in many cases, the system defaults to a safety mode where only the 100% differential lock function remains available.

   Inspect the right brake pedal switch for physical damage, sticking, or misalignment.

   Disconnect the switch and inspect the harness connector for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture.

   Trace the wiring back toward the TRANS1 module to check for chafing or broken wires.

   Use a multimeter set to continuity/resistance to test the switch for a clear open/closed state change when the pedal is depressed and released.

   Monitor the live digital input for the right brake pedal switch using an AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) or WinTest software to verify signal reception at the module.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and turn off the battery isolator switch to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the lower dash/steering column trim panels inside the cab as needed to gain clear access to the brake pedal linkages.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the right brake pedal switch. Loosen the retaining/adjustment nuts holding the switch in its mounting bracket and remove the switch.

   Install the New Switch

   Thread the new switch into the mounting bracket.

   Adjust the Switch

   It is critical to adjust the switch depth so that the plunger is properly depressed when the pedal is at rest, and fully released when the pedal is pressed (or vice versa depending on the specific switch logic). Tighten the locking nuts once adjusted.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn the battery isolator back on, power up the tractor, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 05.00.55 fault code. Test drive to ensure the brake-to-neutral and differential lock functions operate normally.
