   Inspect the Wiring and Connector: Check the wiring harness leading to the X166 suspended front axle position sensor. Look for short circuits to +12V or earth.

   Check for Moisture/Corrosion: Moisture intrusion is a common cause of failure for this sensor. Inspect the connector for water ingress, dust, or corrosion from hydraulic fluid and road salt.

   Verify Sensor Values: Use a diagnostic tool to read the live voltage values of the sensor to see if the signal is stuck 'too high' or 'too low'.

   Locate the Sensor

   Find the front axle position sensor (X166) on the suspended front axle assembly.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Carefully unplug the wiring harness from the sensor, ensuring you do not damage the connector tabs.

   Remove the Old Sensor

   Unbolt and remove the faulty sensor. Handle the area with care, as these are precision instruments.

   Mount the replacement sensor.
