Massey Ferguson 05.01.55 – TRANS1: Issue With Right Brake Pedal Switch Signal Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The onboard diagnostic system has detected an irregularity, conflict, or missing digital input signal from the right brake pedal switch. The brake pedal switch is a critical input for the continuously variable transmission (CVT) to manage functions like the Parklock, automatic neutral, and speed control.

   Inspect the physical adjustment of the right brake pedal switch at the pedal assembly in the cab to ensure it is making proper contact and isn't physically stuck or broken.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the right brake pedal switch for corrosion, loose pins, or chafed wires that could cause an open circuit or a voltage conflict.

   Using a multimeter, test the switch for continuity and voltage to ensure it correctly opens and closes the circuit when the pedal is depressed and released.

   Check for related codes (such as 05.01.54 for the Left Brake Pedal Switch). If both are present, investigate a shared harness or ground issue rather than a failed switch.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Switch

   Access the brake pedal assembly under the dashboard/cab floor. Locate the switch mounted against the right brake pedal arm.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the faulty right brake pedal switch.

   Remove

   Unscrew or unclip the faulty switch from its mounting bracket.

   Install

   Thread or lock the new OEM brake pedal switch into the bracket.

   Adjust

   Carefully adjust the switch depth so that the plunger is correctly depressed when the pedal is at rest, and fully released when the pedal is pressed.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new switch.

   Clear & Test

   Reconnect the battery. Use a specialized diagnostic tool to clear the 05.01.55 DTC from the TRANS1 module. Start the tractor and test the brake pedals to ensure the brake lights illuminate and the Dyna-VT transmission responds correctly (e.g., Parklock disengages properly).
