Check the cause
Examine the Auto 4WD button on the side pillar for physical damage, sticking, or lack of tactile feedback when pressed.
Remove the side pillar trim and inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the switch control unit. Look for loose pins, frayed wires, or corrosion that could interrupt the signal.
Use a multimeter to test the continuity and signal voltage of the switch to verify if it is sending the correct electrical signal when actuated.
Connect an OEM-compatible diagnostic tool to the tractor. Access the TRANS module and monitor the live data for the Auto 4WD button state to see if the module registers the button being pressed.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Carefully remove the retaining screws or pry the clips holding the right-hand side pillar trim panel to access the rear of the switch control unit.
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the switch unit.
Unclip or unscrew the faulty switch control unit from the pillar panel housing.
Insert the replacement switch control unit into the panel and secure it.
Reconnect the electrical wiring harness, ensuring the connector clicks firmly into place.
Reinstall the side pillar trim panel and secure all screws/clips.
Reconnect the tractor's battery.
Turn on the ignition and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 05.03.32 fault code from the TRANS module.
Test the Auto 4WD system by driving the tractor and engaging the button to ensure the system activates properly and the code does not return.
