Massey Ferguson 05.03.80 – Suspension Module (SUSPENSION): Issue With Front Axle Calibration Stored In Suspension Module Dyna VT (SUSPENSION)
Issue description
The onboard diagnostic system has detected that the calibration values for the suspended front axle are missing, out of range, or corrupted in the module's memory. This usually means the tractor's computer no longer knows the precise angle/position of the front axle, which disables automatic ride height adjustments and can cause the suspension to lock out, stay pumping at its upper limit, or revert to manual mode.

Check the cause
Inspect the front axle position sensor and mechanical linkage arm for physical damage.
Check the sensor connector for moisture, dirt, or corrosion, and inspect the wiring harness back to the suspension module for rub points, open circuits, or shorts to ground.
Check system voltage (battery and alternator) as low voltage events can cause the suspension module to lose its stored calibration memory.
Inspect the hydraulic accumulators (suspension balls) if the suspension lifts to its maximum height and the pump keeps running, or if the axle is completely rigid.
Repair steps
Resolve Hardware Faults
If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness. If the position sensor is physically broken or internally shorted, replace the sensor. Ensure the new sensor's connector is clean and properly sealed with dielectric grease.
Replace Accumulators (If Necessary)
If the suspension is mechanically bottoming out or failing to absorb shock, depressurize the hydraulic system and replace the front axle nitrogen accumulators.
Perform Suspension Calibration
Because the fault specifically states an issue with the stored calibration, the system must be recalibrated after any hardware is fixed (or if the memory was simply wiped by a voltage drop).
Calibration Execution
Calibration can be triggered using a dealer diagnostic tool (like the Autotronic software or Jaltest) or via the dashboard screen on many Dyna-VT armrest models. Warm up the tractor, enter the diagnostic/calibration menu on the dash, select the front axle suspension calibration, and cycle the suspension through its full range of motion (fully raised to fully lowered) so the module can learn the new upper and lower voltage limits.
Save and Test
Once the calibration is complete, save the settings (usually by placing the shuttle in neutral, idling down, and turning the key off to confirm changes). Restart the tractor and test the suspension under load to ensure the fault code remains cleared.
