Massey Ferguson 05.X.31 – TRANS: Issue With Signal From 4wd Button On Side Pillar Dyna VT

Issue description

The transmission control system is detecting an irregular, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the 4WD (or Auto 4WD) rocker switch located on the cab's side pillar.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the physical condition and operation of the 4WD rocker switch on the side pillar

  2. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the side pillar 4WD switch and the Transmission ECU for continuity, shorts, or corrosion

Repair steps

  1. Replace the switch

    Replace the switch if it is internally faulty and failing to send the correct signal to the transmission module.
