   Inspect the left brake pedal switch (located at the top of the pedal arm assembly) for physical damage, loose mounting, or heavy dirt/moisture ingress.

   Disconnect the switch and inspect the wiring harness and connector pins for corrosion, broken wires, or loose terminals. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.

   Set your multimeter to Ohms or continuity mode. Probe the switch terminals while manually pressing and releasing the switch plunger. The switch should show a clear open/closed state change. If the reading is erratic or shows no continuity when closed, the switch has failed internally.

   Turn the ignition ON and check the harness side of the connector for reference voltage (usually 12V) and a good ground. If voltage is missing, trace the circuit back to the TRANS1 module and check for blown fuses or broken wires.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the ignition, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Switch

   Locate the left brake pedal switch under the dashboard, mounted to the pedal bracket assembly.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Unplug the electrical connector. Depending on the exact model, loosen the locking nut or twist the switch counterclockwise to release it from the mounting bracket.

   Install the New Switch

   Thread or lock the new switch into the bracket.

   Adjust the Switch

   Ensure the plunger is properly depressed by the pedal arm when the pedal is at rest, and fully extends when the pedal is pressed. Tighten the locking nut to secure the adjustment.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery. Turn the ignition on, clear the stored 05.X.54 fault code via the diagnostic terminal, and test the tractor to ensure the brake lights operate correctly and the Dyna-VT transmission responds properly to pedal inputs.
