Massey Ferguson 05.X.55 – TRANS1: Issue With Right Brake Pedal Switch Signal Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
The onboard diagnostic (OBD) system has detected an irregularity, malfunction, or missing signal voltage coming from the right brake pedal switch. The controller relies on this signal to manage transmission behavior (such as the Parklock system and automatic neutral/stop functions) when the brakes are applied.

Check the cause
Check the Signal Voltage: Use a specialized diagnostic tool to monitor the live signal voltage from the right brake pedal sensor/switch to the TRANS1 module.
Inspect Wiring and Harnesses: Check the electrical harness connecting the right brake pedal switch to the transmission controller for open circuits, shorts, or damaged pins.
Check Fuses: Consult the fuse box and electrical diagrams to ensure the circuit powering the brake switches has not blown.
Symptom Verification: Note that on some AGCO/Vario-based systems, a faulty brake pedal switch may restrict transmission functions or limit the tractor to only having the '100% diff. lock' function available.
Repair steps
Locate the Switch
Locate the right brake pedal switch, which is mounted on the brake pedal assembly inside the cab.
Disconnect
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty switch.
Remove
Unthread or unclip the old brake pedal switch from its mounting bracket.
Install
Install the new OEM brake pedal switch and adjust the physical clearance if required by the mounting bracket.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back into the switch.
Clear Codes
Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 05.X.55 DTC from the TRANS1 module.
Test
Start the tractor and test the brake pedal to ensure the transmission responds correctly (e.g., Parklock disengages/engages properly) and the code does not return.
