Massey Ferguson 06.00.01 – TRANS1: Rear PTO Switch Signal Issue Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The transmission controller has detected an irregular signal from the main Rear PTO On/Off switch located inside the cab. The underlying condition is typically an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power (+12V), or a mechanical failure of the switch itself.

   Inspect the main Rear PTO switch on the cab console/armrest to see if the button is physically stuck, damaged, or feels spongy.

   Disconnect the switch and use a multimeter to test for proper continuity across the switch terminals when the button is engaged and disengaged.

   Inspect the wiring harness from the switch to the TRANS1 controller for wire rub points, pinched wires under the console trim, or corrosion inside the connector.

   Check the connector for proper ground integrity and verify that the signal voltage is reaching the TRANS1 controller without dropping out.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panel on the right-hand armrest or side console where the yellow Rear PTO switch is mounted.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the bottom of the PTO switch.

   Replace or Repair

   If the switch failed the continuity test, pop the old switch out of the bezel and snap the new OEM switch into place. If the switch tested fine, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness leading to the TRANS1 module.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the switch and reinstall the console trim panel.

   Restore Power & Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use a diagnostic service tool to clear the 06.00.01 fault code from the TRANS1 module.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor and engage the Rear PTO to ensure the signal is read correctly and the PTO clutch engages without throwing a code.
