Massey Ferguson 06.00.12 – TRANS1 (Transmission Controller): Issue With Signal From PTO Neutral Button Dyna VT
Issue description
The control module is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or missing electrical signal from the PTO (Power Take-Off) neutral/command switch located on the operator's console or multifunction armrest. When this code is active, the system may disable the PTO for safety reasons to prevent uncommanded engagement.

Check the cause
Inspect the PTO command switch on the multifunction armrest/console to see if the button is physically sticking, jammed by debris, or feels loose.
Access the back of the switch and inspect the 3-pin electrical connector for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wires leading down the armrest harness.
Disconnect the switch and use a multimeter to test for continuity across the switch terminals when the button is pressed and released. High resistance or no state change indicates internal switch failure.
Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port, navigate to the TRANS1 module, and monitor live data for the PTO Neutral Button state to verify if the signal reaches the ECU.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Switch
Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panel on the multifunction armrest or right-hand console where the yellow PTO switch is mounted.
Disconnect
Unplug the 3-pin wiring harness connector from the bottom of the PTO switch.
Remove the Switch
Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body (or remove the retaining collar, depending on the exact switch style) and push the switch up and out of the console panel.
Install the New Part
Push the new PTO switch into the console cutout until it clicks securely into place.
Reconnect
Plug the 3-pin wiring harness connector back into the new switch.
Reassemble
Reinstall the console trim panel and reconnect the tractor's battery.
Clear Codes & Test
Turn the ignition on. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.00.12 fault code from the TRANS1 module. Start the tractor and test the PTO engagement and neutral functions to verify the repair.
