Massey Ferguson 06.00.19 – TRANS1: Issue With Signal From PTO 1000 ECO Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)

Issue description

The transmission control system is receiving an invalid, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the button used to engage the 1000 ECO (Economy) Power Take-Off (PTO) speed.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the PTO 1000 ECO button on the cab console for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing clean contact.

  2. Access the back of the switch and check the electrical connector for loose pins, moisture, or corrosion.

  3. Use a multimeter to test the switch for proper continuity when pressed and an open circuit when released.

  4. Trace the wiring harness from the PTO switch to the TRANS1 module, looking for chafed wires, breaks, or shorts to ground/power.

  5. Use a diagnostic tool to monitor the TRANS1 module's live data and verify if it registers the switch state changing when toggled.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Carefully remove the trim or retaining screws on the side console/armrest panel where the PTO command switches are housed.

  5. Depress the plastic retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it upward/outward to remove it from the console panel.

  6. Snap the new OEM PTO switch into the panel until the retaining clips lock into place.
