06.00.1A

Massey Ferguson 06.00.1A – TRANS1: PTO Standard Speed Solenoid Voltage Issue

Issue description

This fault code indicates an electrical fault, such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power, in the circuit that supplies voltage to the standard speed Power Take-Off (PTO) solenoid. When this fault is active, the PTO may hesitate, fail to engage, or fail to disengage properly.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the transmission hydraulic fluid is clean and at the proper level.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness between the TRANS1 module and the PTO solenoid for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose pins at the connectors.

  3. Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the PTO solenoid coil (should read around 10 ohms) and verify the TRANS1 module is sending voltage when commanded.

  4. Check the tractor's fuse box for any blown fuses or faulty relays related to the PTO or transmission control circuits.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare tractor

Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery. Ensure all hydraulic pressure in the system has been relieved.

  2. Locate the solenoid

Locate the PTO standard speed solenoid valve on the transmission housing, typically found where the hydraulic lines connect to the PTO clutch system.

  3. Disconnect and remove

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the solenoid. Unbolt or unscrew the faulty solenoid valve from the transmission block. Have a catch pan ready for leaking hydraulic fluid.

  4. Install new solenoid

Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean hydraulic fluid. Install the new valve into the transmission housing and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

  5. Reassemble and test

Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery. Start the tractor, top up the hydraulic fluid, test the PTO engagement from the cab, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.00.1A code from the TRANS1 module.
