Massey Ferguson 06.00.B8 – TRANS1: Issue With CAN BUS From PTO 1000 Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
Communication failure on the CAN bus network specifically originating from the 1000 RPM Power Take-Off (PTO) selector button. The controller is either receiving an erratic signal, no signal, or an out-of-range value from the switch, preventing the PTO from engaging properly in the 1000 RPM mode.

Check the cause
Perform a physical inspection of the PTO 1000 rocker switch on the multifunction armrest/side console for damage, sticking, or a collapsed internal spring.
Remove the console trim and inspect the electrical connector at the back of the PTO switch for loose pins, corrosion, or moisture ingress.
Test the CAN bus wiring harness between the PTO switch and the TRANS1 controller for continuity, open circuits, or short circuits to ground/power.
Check if other CAN bus fault codes are present (e.g., 06.00.B5, 06.00.B6) to determine if the issue is a damaged CAN bus harness or shared ground rather than a single faulty switch.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts while working on the CAN bus system.
Access the Switch
Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panel on the multifunction armrest or right-hand console where the PTO controls are housed.
Disconnect
Locate the back of the PTO 1000 rocker switch and depress the locking tab to disconnect the electrical wiring harness.
Remove
Push the retaining clips on the sides of the faulty switch to pop it out of the console panel.
Install
Snap the new OEM replacement switch into the panel until it clicks securely into place.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness into the new switch.
Reassemble
Reinstall the console trim panel and reconnect the battery.
Clear Codes
Turn the ignition on. Use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard Datatronic/dashboard menu to clear the 06.00.B8 fault code.
Test
Start the tractor and test the PTO 1000 button to ensure proper engagement and verify that the fault code does not return.
