   Verify the electrical connection at the PTO 540 ECO button.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the switch and the Transmission Module 1 (TRANS1) for shorts, breaks, or loose connectors.

   Use a specialized Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to retrieve active DTCs, monitor the live voltage/signal from the switch when pressed, and confirm if the fault is intermittent or permanent.

   Access the PTO control panel

   Access the PTO control panel where the PTO 540 ECO button is located.

   Disconnect the electrical harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the back of the faulty PTO switch.

   Remove the faulty switch

   Remove the faulty push-button switch from the console.

   Install the replacement switch

   Install the replacement OEM PTO switch and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Clear DTC codes

   Once the physical repair is complete, use a specialized diagnostic tool to clear the DTC codes from the tractor's OBD system to ensure the TRANS1 module registers the fix and restores normal PTO operation.
