Massey Ferguson 06.01.1C – TRANS1: Issue With Voltage To 540 PTO Speed Solenoid Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
An electrical fault (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) detected in the circuit that supplies power to the solenoid responsible for engaging the 540 RPM speed setting on the rear Power Take-Off (PTO). When this code is active, the PTO may fail to engage or disengage properly.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the 540 PTO speed solenoid for dirt, moisture, or corrosion
Use a multimeter to verify that the TRANS1 controller is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid when the 540 PTO speed is selected, and check the harness for continuity
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the solenoid coil pins to confirm if the coil has failed internally (open or shorted)
Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid and filters for contamination, which can cause internal valve components to stick and overheat the electrical coil
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Relieve Pressure
Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the transmission/PTO circuit before removing the valve.
Locate and Remove
Locate the PTO solenoid control valve block on the Dyna VT transmission housing. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the 540 PTO solenoid.
Dismount the Solenoid
Unbolt and remove the faulty solenoid valve. Have a catch pan ready for any minor hydraulic fluid loss.
Clean and Install
Clean the mounting surface thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Install the new solenoid valve and tighten to OEM torque specifications.
Reconnect
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the weather seal is intact.
Filter Maintenance
It is highly recommended to change the hydraulic filter during this repair, as debris from a failing system can immediately damage the new valve.
Test
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, clear the 06.01.1C fault code via the diagnostic menu, and test the 540 PTO engagement.
