06.01.1D

Massey Ferguson 06.01.1D – TRANS1: Issue With Voltage To 1000 PTO Speed Solenoid Dyna VT

Issue description

Triggered by the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system when it detects an electrical irregularity (such as a short circuit, open circuit, or out-of-range voltage) on the circuit supplying power to the solenoid responsible for engaging the 1000 RPM PTO speed.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness running from the TRANS1 controller to the 1000 PTO speed solenoid for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or exposed copper.

  2. Disconnect the plug at the PTO solenoid and inspect the connector for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.

  3. Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the pins of the 1000 PTO speed solenoid to check for an open or shorted coil.

  4. Back-probe the connector or use a test light to verify the TRANS1 module is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid when the 1000 PTO speed is commanded on.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Solenoid

Locate the PTO control valve block on the transmission housing. Identify the specific solenoid for the 1000 RPM speed circuit.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Ensure the tractor is turned off, the PTO is disengaged, and hydraulic pressure is relieved before removing the valve.

  3. Remove the Faulty Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical harness. Unbolt/unscrew the faulty solenoid from the hydraulic control block.

  4. Install the New Solenoid

Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean hydraulic fluid. Install the new solenoid valve and torque to OEM specifications.

  5. Reconnect and Clear Codes

Reconnect the electrical harness. Turn the tractor on, use a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.01.1D DTC from the TRANS1 module, and test the 1000 PTO engagement to ensure the fault does not return.
