Massey Ferguson 06.01.55 – TRANS1: Issue With Signal From PTO Neutral Button Dyna VT
Issue description
The system has detected an invalid, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the PTO (Power Take-Off) neutral button/switch located on the PTO/linkage console. This prevents the system from verifying whether the PTO is safely in neutral, which can disable PTO engagement as a safety precaution.

Check the cause
Inspect the PTO neutral button on the PTO/linkage console for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing full travel.
Inspect the wiring harness leading from the PTO neutral switch to the TRANS1 module. Look for chafed wires, loose connections, or corrosion at the connector pins.
Using a multimeter, test the switch for proper continuity when pressed and released. Verify that the reference voltage from the TRANS1 controller is reaching the switch.
Perform a bypass test using a jumper wire to temporarily bypass the switch to see if the system registers the neutral state. If the system responds correctly with the jumper in place, the switch is confirmed faulty.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Console
Carefully remove the trim or access panels on the right-hand PTO/linkage console to expose the underside of the PTO switches.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the PTO neutral button/switch.
Remove
Unclip or unthread the retaining collar holding the faulty switch in the console and pull the switch out.
Install
Insert the replacement PTO neutral switch into the console and secure it.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back into the new switch. Reassemble the console trim.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor's OBD port and clear the 06.01.55 fault code from the TRANS1 module.
Test
Start the tractor and cycle the PTO controls to ensure the neutral signal is recognized and the fault does not return.
