Massey Ferguson 06.01.B9 – TRANS1: Issue With CAN BUS From PTO 1000 ECO Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The transmission controller is failing to receive the expected CAN bus communication signals from the PTO 1000 ECO selection switch. This is typically caused by a failed internal circuit within the switch, a disconnected/corroded wiring harness, or a break in the CAN bus network lines leading to the switch.

   Inspect the PTO 1000 ECO button on the armrest/side console for physical damage, sticking, or signs of liquid intrusion.

   Gain access to the back of the switch and disconnect the harness. Inspect the connector for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins.

   Using a multimeter, check the CAN High and CAN Low wires at the switch connector for proper voltage (typically around 2.5V to 2.7V for CAN High and 2.3V to 2.5V for CAN Low) and verify continuity back to the TRANS1 controller.

   Check the diagnostic terminal for other CAN bus-related fault codes. If multiple switches or armrest controls are throwing CAN codes simultaneously, the issue is likely a damaged main harness or a broader CAN network failure rather than the individual PTO switch.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the main battery master switch to prevent electrical arcing or further CAN bus errors.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully pry up or unscrew the retaining trim on the right-hand control console/armrest to expose the underside of the PTO switch cluster.

   Disconnect Harness

   Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the faulty PTO 1000 ECO switch.

   Remove the Switch

   Squeeze the plastic retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it upward/outward through the mounting panel.

   Install the New Part

   Snap the new OEM PTO switch into the panel until the retaining tabs click securely into place.

   Reconnect

   Plug the wiring harness back into the switch, ensuring the locking tab engages.

   Reassemble & Test

   Reinstall the console trim. Turn on the battery master switch, start the tractor, and use the Datatronic/SIS screen or a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.01.B9 fault code. Test the PTO 1000 ECO engagement to verify the repair.
