Massey Ferguson 06.02.1B – TRANS1: Issue With Voltage To PTO ECO Speed Solenoid Dyna VT
Issue description
This indicates an electrical fault—likely an open circuit, short circuit, or out-of-range voltage drop—detected in the circuit that powers the solenoid responsible for engaging the Economy (ECO) speed mode of the Power Take-Off (PTO).

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness running from the TRANS1 controller to the PTO ECO Speed Solenoid on the transmission valve block for chafed wires, rodent damage, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the plug at the PTO ECO solenoid and check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion.
Turn the key to the ON position and command the PTO ECO speed via the cab switch. Use a multimeter to verify if the correct reference voltage is reaching the solenoid connector.
Measure the resistance across the pins of the PTO ECO Speed Solenoid itself. If it reads as an open circuit (infinite resistance) or a dead short, the solenoid coil has failed internally and requires replacement.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Locate the Valve
Locate the PTO control valve block on the Dyna VT transmission housing. Identify the specific solenoid for the ECO speed circuit.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the area around the solenoid with brake cleaner or a degreaser to prevent dirt from entering the transmission's hydraulic circuit when the valve is removed.
Removal
Disconnect the electrical harness plug from the solenoid. Remove the retaining bolts securing the solenoid valve to the block. Carefully pull the solenoid out.
Installation
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean transmission/hydraulic fluid. Insert the new valve into the block, ensuring it seats properly without pinching the O-rings.
Secure
Install and tighten the retaining bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical harness plug until it clicks securely. Reconnect the battery.
Testing
Start the tractor, engage the PTO in ECO mode, and verify operation. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 06.02.1B historical fault code from the TRANS1 module.
