Massey Ferguson 06.02.B5 – TRANS1: Issue With CAN BUS From PTO Neutral Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The transmission controller is either not receiving the signal from the PTO Neutral Button located on the multifunction armrest, or the data packets being received are corrupted/invalid.

   Check the PTO Neutral Button on the armrest for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing full depression.

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) and navigate to the TRANS1 module to monitor the live state of the PTO Neutral Button. Press the button to see if the state changes.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the multifunction armrest (MFA) and the TRANS1 controller. Look for chafed wires, pinched harnesses under the armrest pivot, or backed-out pins in the connectors.

   Using a multimeter, check the CAN High and CAN Low lines at the switch connector for proper voltage (typically around 2.5V to 2.7V for CAN High and 2.3V to 2.5V for CAN Low) and verify the 60-ohm terminating resistance across the network.

   Disconnect the PTO switch and test it for continuity across its pins when the button is pressed. If it fails, the switch is the culprit.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts or CAN BUS spikes during repair.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully remove the retaining screws and plastic covers on the multifunction armrest console to access the underside of the PTO switch panel.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty PTO switch. Inspect the connector for corrosion or moisture; clean with contact cleaner if necessary.

   Remove the Switch

   Depress the retaining tabs or remove the mounting screws holding the PTO switch in the console bezel, and pull the switch out.

   Install the New Part

   Push the new OEM PTO switch into the console until it clicks into place.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back into the switch, ensuring the locking tab engages.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest console covers and secure all screws.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use the AGCO EDT diagnostic software to clear the 06.02.B5 fault code from the TRANS1 module.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor and test the PTO engagement and neutral functions to verify the repair.
