Massey Ferguson 06.02.B8 – TRANS1: Issue With CAN BUS From PTO 1000 Button Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
A communication error on the CAN BUS network originating from the 1000 RPM PTO selection button located on the PTO/linkage console (X145). The system has detected a loss of valid signal, a CAN messaging failure, or a mechanical/electrical error such as the switch being stuck in the depressed position for over 30 seconds.

Check the cause
Inspect the 1000 RPM PTO button on the X145 console to ensure it is not physically jammed or stuck down for more than 30 seconds
Check for related PTO console button codes (e.g., 06.02.B5, 06.02.B6) to determine if the issue is isolated to a single switch or affects the entire console harness
Perform a CAN BUS voltage test at the console connector (expecting 2.5V - 2.7V on CAN High, and 2.3V - 2.5V on CAN Low) to check for shorts or open circuits
Inspect the wiring harness routing from the cab armrest/console down to the transmission controller for chafing, pinched wires, or loose connector pins
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Access the Console
Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim surrounding the X145 PTO/linkage console in the cab to access the underside of the switches.
Inspect and Clean Connections
Disconnect the wiring pigtail from the PTO 1000 switch. Inspect the pins for corrosion or pushed-back terminals. Clean with contact cleaner if necessary.
Test/Replace the Switch
If the wiring is intact and the CAN voltages are correct, the internal contacts or CAN node of the switch itself have failed. Remove the retaining clips holding the faulty PTO switch in the console and pop it out. Insert the new OEM replacement switch and reconnect the harness.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reinstall the console trim, reconnect the battery, and use a dealer diagnostic service tool to clear the 06.02.B8 DTC from the TRANS1 module.
Operational Test
Start the tractor and engage the 1000 RPM PTO to verify the fault does not return and the PTO engages smoothly.
